Panela Cheese Fries with Salsa Picante Crema
WHAT YOU NEED
- 1 (16oz) bag of frozen waffle fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounces Cacique® Panela Cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped finely
- Salt and black pepper
- Cacique Salsa Picante Flavored Sour Cream, for topping
HOW TO MAKE IT
- Cook the waffle fries as per the manufacturers instructions.
- Cut the Panela cheese into cubes about 1/2 inch square.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick pan over a medium to high heat. Place some of the cubes into the oil and cook for about 20 seconds or until you see the middle become soft. Using tongs, turn the cheese over and repeat the process. Once the cheese has a nice golden sear, transfer to a plate. Cook the remaining cheese cubes until done.
- Once the fries are ready, layer an outdoor friendly bowl with fries and Panela cheese cubes until bowl is filled up. Season with salt and pepper. Squeeze on as much of the Salsa Picante Sour Cream over the fries as you like and then garnish with fresh chopped cilantro. Serve at once with forks.
