Calaveras de Queso Fresco with Homestyle and Hatch Chile Salsa Verde
WHAT YOU NEED
- Cacique® Homestyle Medium Salsa
- Cacique® Hatch Chili Salsa Verde
- 2 10oz packages Ranchero® Queso Fresco
- Sliced Radish, for Decorating
- Sliced Black Olive, for Decorating
- Multi-colored Bell Peppers, Sliced for Decorating
HOW TO MAKE IT
- Remove Queso Frescos from packaging.
- With a small paring knife cut the sides of the cheese to shape into a skull shape.
- Then with a small knife, punch out the eyes. Use olives to decorate the eyes.
- Carefully create mouth and decorate the skull with radishes and multi-colored bell peppers. Store in refrigerator until ready to plate.
- For the Mexican Flag presentation, in a medium-large size rectangular platter, pour the Hatch Chili Salsa Verde on the left side of the platter, then pour the Homestyle Medium Salsa on the right side and place a Queso Fresco Calavera in the center. Note – reserve the other prepared Calavera and extra salsa to refill the platter for your guests.
- Serve with tortilla chips and fire roasted tortillas.
